Launch of 2nd level of the SSPA online knowledge test

In conjunction with its Knowledge Initiative SSPA, the Swiss Structured Products Association, today launched the 2nd level of its popular online knowledge test. Now advanced users can test their knowledge of structured products with an appropriate test. More than 7,500 investors have already benefitted from the basic test.

Zurich, December 20, 2011. Since its inception the main objective of SSPA, the Swiss Structured Products Association, has been to promote knowledge and understanding of structured products among investors and the public. The basic version of the online test, which was designed in cooperation with SDI Swiss Derivative Institute, was launched last September. SSPA President Daniel Sandmeier: “Our two online knowledge tests are prime examples of our policy of constantly adding to our range of structured product teaching and decision-making aids.”

Today an advanced test that complements the highly successful basic version goes live.

In the first three months since its launch, some 7,500 individuals have taken the test’s basic version. As planned by SDI and SSPA, a second test for advanced users goes live today. According to SSPA Executive Director Jürg Stähelin, “The two online knowledge tests give interested individuals as well as experienced investors an opportunity to test and improve their knowledge of structured products. They get valuable feedback and an opportunity to further improve their knowledge about this important investment product.”

The advanced online test was designed by experts of the SDI and currently consists of some 100 highly demanding test questions in pre-defined areas. Each time the test is accessed on the Association website www.svsp-verband.ch, 16 different questions, assembled at random, appear to ensure that no two consecutive tests are alike. Rather than supplying yes-or-no answers, users deal with structured product questions interactively. French and English version of the tests are in preparation for 2012.
