Third fair for structured products: Ongoing interest in structured products

The third Structured Products Fair closed its doors on Thursday evening. Around 3500 institutional and private investors attended the event, which was jointly organized by Scoach Switzerland Ltd and the Swiss Structured Products Association SSPA. Over two days – October 21 and 22, 2009 – visitors took the opportunity to learn first hand about products, strategies and investment issues. An accompanying program of speeches, seminars, presentations and roundtables provided a wealth of knowledge about structured products. The educational seminars for independent asset managers – a new feature of this year’s fair – were also very well received.

Both exhibitors and organizers declared themselves satisfied with how the fair had gone. “In a difficult market environment it is particularly important to be on hand to answer investors’ questions and respond to their increased need for information,” said Christian Reuss, CEO of Scoach. The roundtable discussions on a new order for financial markets and the market outlook were particularly well attended. Economic expert Marc Faber also attracted a large audience for his talk on the impact of an expansive monetary and financial policy. The motto of this year’s fair was “Knowledge is the best stimulus package”. However, as SSPA President Roger Studer emphasizes, “The Structured Products Fair remains committed to disseminating specialist knowledge and highlighting the wide range of products on offer.” The fourth Structured Products Fair will take placeon October 20 and 21, 2010, again at the Kongresshaus Zurich.
