Daniel Haeberli new Head Legal & Regulation

Daniel Haeberli, Attorney-at-Law at Homburger AG, will be assuming the function of Head Legal & Regulation on 1 January 2017 at the head offices of the Swiss Structured Products Association. He is succeeding Enrico Friz, who is taking up new challenges, after having worked for the Association for around ten years.

Zurich, 21 December 2016. Daniel Haeberli, Attorney-at-Law and Partner at the distinguished law firm Homburger AG and who works in the practical banking and financial market law team, will be joining the SSPA on 1 January 2017 as the new Head Legal & Regulation. Thanks to his long-standing activity in the structured products field, he has extensive knowledge of the industry and has first-hand experience of the legal and regulatory challenges facing the industry through his day-to-day work. For over 15 years at Homburger, Daniel Haeberli has supported Swiss and non-domestic financial institutions in conjunction with the structuring, documentation and sale of structured products. This means that he is very familiar with the regulatory and legal operating conditions in Switzerland, as well as with pan-European directives.

“With Daniel Haeberli we have been able to secure the services of an extremely skilled and acknowledged legal expert in the field of structured products for the function of Head Legal & Regulation. Thanks to his broad experience and his in-depth knowledge of national as well as international statutory and regulatory operating conditions, he will be able to provide the Association and its members with optimum advice as well as important impulses for the further development of the industry,” said Georg von Wattenwyl, commenting on the changes at the head offices of the SSPA.

After ten years as the valued Head Legal & Regulation at the SSPA, as well as around 20 years of work as an independent attorney-at-law at Walder Wyss, Enrico Friz has now decided to take up a new professional challenge and to act as General Counsel of the Vontobel Group with effect from 1 January 2017. He helped to shape the development of the Association, and was a much sought-after and valued interlocutor for members, public authorities and the media. The SSPA thanks Enrico Friz for his tremendous contribution, and continues to wish him much success.
